Posted February 24, 2018 06:01:24US Open champ Jordan Spieth has confirmed that he will play in his fourth US Open after losing to Dustin Johnson in a penalty shootout in the fourth round.

“I think I’ll be able to play in a fourth round,” Spieth told NBC Sports Live Extra on Thursday.

“It’s definitely something I’d like to have done.

I was definitely disappointed by the way I lost in that penalty, but I’m just really happy to be here.”

Spieth also revealed that he and Dustin Johnson will not meet in the final at the US Open in June.

“We’ll just see what happens in the rest of the season,” Speth said.

“You just hope that Dustin can make it to the last round.”

Speth and Johnson were playing on the same day at the Masters in an opening round.

Spieth’s first-round match against Johnson was postponed due to rain in the second round.

The US Open begins on Friday with a match between David Ferrer and Dustin Martin.
